Colin Lenton is a professional photographer from Philadelphia and a recent graduate of Temple University's School of Communications. Colin's love of photography began in Lebanon, Pennsylvania during elementary school. He quickly evolved from using small disposable Kodak one time use cameras to using his grandfather's older Nikon. Later Colin became interested in all kinds of media and toyed with the idea of studying filmmaking during college. While studying at Temple University Colin rediscovered his love for photography in this new digital era and he began his own freelance photography business, creatively named : Colin M. Lenton Photography. Before graduating, Colin recieved several photo related awards including one from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association for his sports photography. Before starting his own business Colin did professional internships with newspapers such as The Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Harrisburg Patriot-News. He also enjoyed a semester as a photo editor at Pixel Press, a website that features documentary photojournalism. Colin has done commerical work for companies such as University Jerky and Cameo Style, as well as promotional work with the non-profit group Kids Rethink New Orleans Schools. He recently shot a poster campaign for the Center for Disease Control. As a freelancer Colin also enjoys doing editorial work and as such he has worked for numerous magazines and covered breaking news stories for international markets. When Colin isn't taking pictures he can be found training for a marathon, geeking out on the internet over technology news, backpacking or riding a bicycle. |
