Bookends / Nahama & Connors

Last week my friend Caitlin called me up and said that she had an idea she wanted to try with a friend of hers. They wanted to recreate the iconic cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s album, Bookends.

The album cover is a great minimalist photo by Richard Avedon. I knew immediately I wanted to see if we could do it, so I booked off the studio time and got to work deconstructing the lighting in the original. Caitlin and Ian got to work finding black turtlenecks.

I think it turned out pretty great.  We’ve got another one in the works, but that is a secret for now.
