This Christmas I got a gift from Liz, that I should have bought myself a long time ago. A point and shoot camera. Its tough to call a camera as useful as the Canon G10 a “point and shoot” because it is hardly that. 14.7 megapixels. Dials for ISO, exposure compensation, and shooting modes as well as a hot shoe and a gigantic review screen on the back make this arguably the best digital point and shoot available.

From a less techy perspective, the size of this camera will allow me to more realistically achieve my goal of carrying my camera with me at all times. Something I believe every photographer should do, but something that is difficult to practice if your only cameras are gigantic professional SLR behemoths. Admittedly over several years of calling myself a professional photographer I grew tired of always carrying my “work” camera with me and started to associate my down time with not having a camera. Creatively, I felt like I was lacking something and I longed for a point and shoot that could fill that gap.

Liz came to the rescue. Here are some pictures I shot over the holiday weekend - all just snapshots.

Its been a busy end of the year business wise for me and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. But today, at around 6pm, I will be taking off for a few days to spend time with friends and family and just enjoy the holiday. Most of the gifts are wrapped, and I believe (a first for me before Christmas eve) all of the gifts are bought.

First stop, tonight will be Lebanon, PA. Followed by multiple locations on Long Island.
